Staff are expected to lift heavy bottles to bottled water machines. The average bottle of water weighs 22kg (22 litres per bottle). Health and Safety Executive guidelines stipulate that lifting and carrying
above 10kg should be avoided and that facilities should be supplied for lifting heavy weights.
